Therapy for BIPOC + Women of Color

Therapy for people and women of color to help make the unspoken, spoken and the unknown, known

It’s hard to live in a world of systems not designed with you in mind

Many of the systems we live in were not designed with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in mind — because of this, we so often feel invalidated, stressed, and disenfranchised as we find a lack of space in the world to truly be ourselves. Some of the stressors we experience are ones for which there are no words, just a feeling of oppression as we struggle to find them. Therapy can help make the unspoken, spoken and the unknown, known.

Find a supportive, inclusive space for healing

BIPOC therapy in Virginia; Maryland, and Washington DC

As BIPOC, it can be hard to find supportive spaces where you feel safe to be and to express yourself. At Hope + Wellness, we work with many BIPOC women, girls, teens, and young adults, to provide a safe, supportive space to help them figure out how to navigate this thing called life and your identity in the world. Therapy is a healthy way for you to take care of yourself and begin developing insights to thrive and live your best life even in the face of difficult events, traumas, depression, anxiety, and stress.

Stressors experienced by BIPOC and women of color include

  • Discrimination

  • Covert and overt racism

  • Microaggressions

  • Depression, anxiety

  • Feelings of shame

  • Loneliness

  • Guilt, confusion

  • Isolation

  • Stress

  • Fear of retaliation

  • Fear, anger

We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope.
