As a first-generation Latina, I know what it’s like to balance multiple identities—navigating expectations, finding your voice, and learning how to honor both where you come from and who you’re becoming. These experiences deeply shape the way I show up in therapy: with warmth, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand your world. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as you work toward healing and self-discovery.

I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds and honoring their unique stories. As a bilingual clinician, I am especially passionate about supporting the Latino community and ensuring that cultural and language barriers don’t stand in the way of meaningful care. Being a first-generation college graduate also influences my approach, as I often work with individuals navigating identity, family expectations, code-switching, and the pressures of being “the first” in their families to do many things.

I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relational concerns, and women’s issues such as attachment, self-worth, and empowerment. I believe therapy can be a space for both reflection and growth, a place to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and rediscover your strength.

My clinical approach is integrative and tailored to each individual, incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based trauma therapy that helps individuals reprocess distressing experiences and find deeper healing.

Before entering private practice, I gained a breadth of experience working with individuals in community mental health and domestic violence intervention programs. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from George Mason University, with concentrations in Forensic Psychology and Educational Psychology, as well as a minor in American Sign Language.I am honored to be a recipient of the American Psychological Association’s Interdisciplinary Minority Fellowship Program, where I receive specialized training to better serve underserved and diverse communities. I also had the privilege of presenting at a global mental health training in Germany, where I focused on cross-cultural counseling and trauma-informed care for refugees and asylum seekers. I deeply value the courage it takes to begin therapy, and I am honored to walk alongside you as you navigate your personal path toward healing, balance, and empowerment.

Philosophy

Healing begins in safety—in being seen, heard, and understood without judgment. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you rediscover your voice, strength, and sense of self. For me, therapy isn’t just about coping with challenges; it’s about learning to trust yourself again, reconnecting with what matters most, and creating a life that feels authentic and aligned with your values.

My approach is warm, relational, and culturally responsive. As a bilingual Latina and first-generation college graduate, I understand the unique challenges that can come with navigating multiple identities, expectations, and cultural worlds—such as code-switching, guilt, or pressure to succeed. I enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds and honoring their unique stories, while holding a special passion for supporting the Latino community. I strive to create a space where your culture, identity, and personal story are seen as sources of strength rather than barriers to healing.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to each person. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy, we will work together to help you understand and regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and develop tools for lasting change. I’m also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that supports individuals in reprocessing distressing experiences and f inding deeper emotional healing. Above all, I believe therapy is a space for authenticity, connection, and growth. My hope is that you feel safe to bring your whole self—your pain, joy, culture, and identity—into the room. You don’t have to navigate it alone; I’m here to support you, with compassion and care, every step of the way.

Above all, I view therapy as a collaborative journey—one where you can bring your whole self, including your struggles, fears, and hopes, without judgment. You deserve support that honors your lived experiences, cultural background, and personal strengths. It would be my privilege to walk alongside you on your path to healing and self-discovery.

Why i became a therapist

Becoming a therapist was a path I felt deeply called to, shaped by my own personal experiences and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Growing up in a community where mental health was often stigmatized, I witnessed the struggles that many people, including myself, faced when it came to seeking help or understanding their emotions. I realized that I wanted to be a part of the solution—to break the silence, reduce the stigma, and provide a space for people to heal and grow.

A pivotal moment in my journey occurred during my high school years when I discovered a classmate who had tragically taken her life. That experience left a lasting impact on me and fueled my desire to support others who were struggling with mental health challenges. It also highlighted the importance of accessible mental health care, especially for underserved communities like the Latinx community, where cultural barriers can make seeking help even more difficult. I was also drawn to the power of human connection and the ability to guide people through their healing journey. I believe that therapy is more than just a process—it's a collaborative and empowering experience that helps individuals rediscover their strength, resilience, and potential. Each person has a unique story, and it is my honor to walk alongside them as they navigate the challenges they face.

What inspires me about the work I do with clients

What inspires me most about my work is the courage clients show in being vulnerable. Each person’sjourney is unique, and it’s a privilege to witness their strength and resilience, even when they don’t see it in themselves. Helping clients reclaim their voice and trust themselves again is incredibly rewarding.

I’m deeply inspired by the healing potential of therapy—seeing clients overcome pain, rediscover their worth, and build healthier coping mechanisms is a powerful reminder of the growth possible. The small victories and breakthroughs make this work meaningful, as I witness the transformation toward healing and resilience.

I feel especially connected to clients from the Latinx community and those who’ve experienced trauma, helping them break cultural and generational barriers. My work is about more than therapy—it’s about creating a space where clients feel understood, valued, and empowered. The connections I build with clients, and the profound impact therapy has in breaking generational cycles, keep me inspired every day. It’s truly a privilege to be part of their healing journey and to help them build healthier futures—for themselves and for the generations to come.
