Gain greater self-insight, health, and wellness through online therapy

Online teletherapy offers a safe, supportive space for you to meet with your therapist. Together, you will work through concerns you would like help and support with, including learning better ways to manage your thoughts and emotions, and ways to manage work stress, and to build healthy relationships with others. Through working with your therapist over teletherapy, you can work to gain greater self-insight and awareness to help make the changes that you would like to make in your life. Together, you can also work with your therapist to address any feelings of depression, anxiety, and stress.

It’s important to invest time in yourself and to spend time building an awareness of any blind spots and barriers that impact you and hold you back so that you can live life to your fullest potential and capacity. Online teletherapy offers a simple, modern way for you to engage in therapy with your busy schedule to take care of yourself and feel supported in making changes in your life that you’d like to see.

Get online therapy and continuity of care for your longterm wellbeing

We offer teletherapy and online therapy throughout Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland, and across the US. Based on current licensure laws, therapists must be licensed in the state you are currently located in, or where you are physically located during sessions. We have therapists licensed across multiple states to help provide continuity of care, especially if you are in the middle of a life transition such as moving away from the region or starting a new job or college.

States include Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, California, New York, as well as all of the states listed through PSYPACT, a new system that allows psychologists to see clients nationally across the US. If you’re interested, please feel free to reach out to us; we’re happy to help.

Online Therapy FAQs

Who is online therapy a good fit for?

Online therapy is a great fit for people who have busy schedules, lack childcare, or who live far from our in person offices. It is not as good of a fit for children under 13 years old as it can be hard to engage younger kids using this format. Online therapy may also be a good fit if you enjoy the comfort, flexibility, and privacy of sessions from your own home. Sometimes people who are engaging in deeper emotional work prefer to meet in person. In this case, we also offer in person sessions from our offices which are serene spaces for transformation and healing.

Is online therapy secure?

For all online counseling sessions, we use a secure, HIPAA-compliant teletherapy platform which is convenient to use and easy to integrate into your lifestyle. All you need is a laptop with a webcam or a smart phone, as well as internet access. The link from our system will come to your inbox approximately 10 minutes prior to your session.

does online therapy differ in quality?

The same techniques are used in online therapy as in person therapy. We tailor treatment so that it is personalized just for you. Treatments include science-based methods that are designed and found to be effective, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. But above all, it will be paired with a collaborative approach, in which you are deeply seen and heard; met with genuine positive regard and support. Therapists are experts but they are human too. You will feel this sense of human connection whether in person or online.

does my insurance plan cover online therapy?

Most insurance plans provide reimbursement for online therapy on an in network or out of network basis. A lot of people are surprised to learn that they do have out of network benefits, so we always recommend that you call your insurance plan using the phone number on the back of your insurance card to inquire about reimbursement. We can help you submit for reimbursement through courtesy claims which helps to make the process easier for you so you can focus on your personal growth and needs (rather than admin!!). :)
