12 Resources for LGBTQ+ Folks
We’re more than halfway through Pride month, to all our LGBTQ+ friends, how have you been prioritizing care for yourselves this month?
It’s no secret that it’s a tense and scary time for queer folks in the United States right now–but know that you are not alone, not without resources, and have folks like all of us here at Hope+Wellness in your corner.
Since we’re nearing the end of Pride month, we thought a resource roundup to help LGBTQ folks not just for Pride month, but for all the months after that was in order. Below you can find 8 blogs from our site, as well as a short roundup of resources beyond Hope+Wellness.
Tools for Community Building
Community is important for all of us, but particularly crucial for folks existing within a marginalized identity. While many queer folks have loving, accepting members of their family, many do not, and have to build their own type of family through friends and community. But our culture is a pretty isolated one, which can make finding and connecting to your community hard, and learning how to connect meaningfully with folks within your community even harder. Learning how to show up for others in your community, and how to ask your community to show up for you will be a superpower to get you through even the darkest times.

While it is a scary time to be part of the LGBTQ+ community, you have friends and allies fighting for you. It’s important to spend time with people who value you, see you and celebrate you. Take time to push back against the anti-LGBTQ+ messaging that is coming around, and remember that unlearning harmful habits, and prioritizing self love, self empowerment and self esteem is a radical act in a world that doesn’t want you to love yourself. Remember all you can do is learn to act through your own values, and hope others will do the same.
